Cyril Payne has been awarded the Silver Wolf
Our very own Cyril Payne has been awarded the Silver Wolf, the Scouting Associations highest award for service.
The Silver Wolf award was introduced by Lord Baden Powell and is only awarded ‘for service of an exceptional nature’. It is not normally awarded until at least the silver acorn has been awarded and this means it is seldom awarded for less than 30 years of service.
We have a lot to thank all members of the movement who have dedicated their lives to helping young people achieve their goals, and we are especially proud of Cyril who has given so much to grow and support the scouting movement in Torfaen.
Cyril was awarded the Silver Wolf award on the 2010 district camp at Miskin Mill, Cardiff. He was also invested as an honorary member of the Freespirit Explorer Unit as a show of their appreciation.
Scouting is growing in Torfaen and the UK thanks to those who volunteer their time to help the young people of today. If you are inspired to help or would like to more about scouting in Torfaen and how you could help in any way, please contact us.
